Okanagan Hockey Ontario Summer Camps: Elite Development in Whitby
Okanagan Hockey Ontario is proud to bring our high-performance summer hockey camps back to Whitby, offering four weeks of full-day programming designed to help players develop confidence, skill, and hockey IQ in a professional, positive environment.
Hosted at the Whitby Iroquois Park Sports Centre, these camps combine elite on-ice instruction, off-ice skill development, and strength & conditioning, giving players a complete development experience that mirrors the standards used across the Okanagan Hockey Group.
Whether your player is just beginning their hockey journey or preparing for higher levels of competition, our Whitby summer camps provide a proven pathway for growth.
Camp Overview
Location: Whitby Iroquois Park Sports Centre, Whitby, ON
Dates: Four weeks in July
Format: Full-day camps
Cost:
- Skaters: $599 + HST
- Practice Goalies: $250 + HST
Each day is carefully structured to balance ice time, training, recovery, and fun — keeping players engaged and improving all week long.

A Look at the Daily Schedule
A typical day at Okanagan Hockey Ontario summer camp includes:
- 8:30 – 8:45 AM: Arrival
- 9:00 – 10:00 AM: On-Ice Session
- 10:00 – 10:30 AM: Snack
- 10:30 – 11:15 AM: Strength & Conditioning
- 11:15 – 12:15 PM: Lunch
- 12:30 – 1:30 PM: On-Ice Session
- 1:30 – 2:00 PM: Snack
- 2:00 – 3:00 PM: Off-Ice Skills
- 3:00 – 3:30 PM: Pick-Up

Shooters & Scorers Camp
A camp that sells out every year
Age Groups:
- Group 1: 2013–2014
- Group 2: 2015–2016
Focus Areas:
- Skating with the puck
- Evasive techniques & shooting in motion
- Building power, accuracy & quick release
- Game-simulation scoring drills
- Changing angles, dekes, deflections, rebounds & one-timers
- Net drives and in-tight scoring
- 1-on-1 skills to beat defenders
July 13–17, 2026
Position-Specific Camp (Forwards & Defence)
Age Groups:
- Group 1: 2011–2012
- Group 2: 2013–2014
Forwards Focus
- Defensive zone puck support & shot blocking
- Neutral zone rush play (1v1, 2v1, 2v2)
- Transitions, agility & lateral movement
- Offensive zone scoring, zone entries & net drives
Defence Focus
- Angling, body positioning & gap control
- Breakout execution & transitional play
- Blue-line puck management
- Shot selection, decision-making & hockey IQ
July 20–24, 2026
Building FUNdamentals in Hockey
Age Group: 2017–2020
This camp introduces young players to hockey in a fun, supportive environment, focusing on skill development and confidence.
Camp Highlights:
- Low player-to-instructor ratio
- Skating fundamentals: balance, stride, edges & mobility
- Puck handling, passing & shooting
- Small-area games for teamwork and decision-making
Players are grouped by similar skill levels to ensure the best learning experience.
July 27–31, 2026
Group 1: Battle, Compete & Body Contact
Age Group: 2013–2014
Designed for players transitioning into contact hockey, this camp builds confidence and teaches safe, effective body contact techniques.
Focus Areas:
- Initiating and receiving contact
- Angling, positioning & stick techniques
- Board and open-ice contact
- Evasive skating & spatial awareness
- Developing a “heads-up” mindset
Group 2: Battle, Compete & Small Area Games
Age Group: 2015–2016
Focus Areas:
- Skating agility, balance & quick feet
- Competition-based drills
- Playing hard within the rules
- Small-area games emphasizing puck protection, cycling, angling & checking skills
Practice Goalie Opportunities (No Instruction)
Goalies are invited to join our camps as Practice Goalies, offering a unique and affordable way to gain high-repetition, game-like experience.
Important: No goalie instruction is provided.
Practice Goalie Highlights:
- Non-instructional format for goalies ready to apply their training
- Hundreds of shots daily in game-situation drills
- 2 x 1.25-hour ice sessions daily
- Daily strength & conditioning
- Off-ice skills (bring gloves and player stick)
- Fun, inclusive camp environment
- Only 2 practice goalie spots per camp
