Jason brings a wealth of experience to OHO, both as a player at the game’s highest levels and as a highly respected player development coach. A veteran of eight NHL seasons, Jason played over 366 NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens, and New York Rangers, tallying 176 career points. He also enjoyed significant success in the AHL and international competition, including winning a Calder Cup with the Hartford Wolfpack and a gold medal with Team Canada at the 1993 World Junior Championships.
Following his playing career, Jason transitioned seamlessly into coaching and player development. He founded Jason Dawe Hockey, where he has developed elite-level players across North America, including NHLers Dennis Gilbert, Andrew Peeke, Graham McPhee, and Frank Hora. His coaching resume includes leadership roles with the Nashville Jr. Predators, Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, and Team Carolina AAA, where his teams captured multiple Southeast District titles and earned national tournament berths.
In addition to his extensive on-ice background, Jason has held roles as a color commentator in the AHL and served as Assistant Coach/Video Coach for the ECHL’s Charlotte Checkers, helping guide the team to an American Conference regular season championship.
Jason’s deep knowledge of the game, combined with his ability to connect with and develop young athletes, makes him an outstanding fit for our program. His commitment to excellence and proven ability to guide players to the next level aligns perfectly with OHO’s vision for long-term athlete development.
